9.50pm: DONE DEAL!

Roma have completed the signing of Steven Nzonzi from Sevilla.

The Serie A outfit have forked out a €26.65m fee for his signature.

Sevilla could net a further €4m in add-ons.

“I feel very happy to be here, and to be a new Roma player,” Nzonzi said.

“I always want to improve – regardless of age, the most important thing is to give your best and work hard. I want to do that, to become a better player and help the team with my play and experience.”

Roma sporting director Monchi added: “Steven is a footballer with a mix of physical and technical qualities that we think will really add to the players that we already have here.

“With his arrival, we have even more quality and competition in midfield.”

9pm: DONE DEAL!

Torino have completed the signing of Ola Aina from Chelsea.

The 21-year-old joins the Serie A outfit on a loan deal until the end of the season, with a permanent option.

“Torino have been following me for some time, I hope to do well,” he said. “I know this is a company that believes in young people and this is very important.

“In Italy I know that I can learn a lot, especially in the ability to be in the field, because the tactics and organisation of play are essential.

“I really want to experience this new experience to the full, thanks to all the Taurus for choosing me: now it’s my turn, I can not wait to get started.”

6pm: Paul Pogba would be better off at rivals Manchester City, says BBC Sport pundit Andy Townsend.

“I don’t subscribe to any of the other guys, particularly ex-midfield players as well, that have all heavily criticised him,” Townsend said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“I think he’s an outstanding player and I’ve said that from day one.

“I just think the club he’s playing at and the way they play, doesn’t suit him.

“If he was across the road in a light blue shirt, my goodness, I’m telling you now he would be better than he is.”

4.30pm: Arsenal forward Joel Campbell is set to join Serie A new boys Frosinone Calcio.

Campbell will put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Serie A new boys, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

3.15pm: Barcelona have DROPPED their interest in Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Nou Camp club have confirmed Pogba is no longer a realistic target in this summer’s transfer window.

Barcelona sporting director Ariedo Braida said: “I don’t think we’re going to make a move for Pogba, but he’s a great player.”

The news is a huge boost to United, who had insisted the French World Cup winner was not for sale.

Barcelona had been considering a stunning £180m swoop for the midfielder.

1.45pm: Leicester hope to wrap up the £18m signing of defender Caglar Soyuncu this weekend.

The Foxes are expecting the 22-year-old former Freiburg star’s work permit to be finalised in the next few days.

Soyuncu, a deadline day arrival, signed a five-year deal with the Premier League side, subject to having his work permit approved.

12.50pm: Chelsea have loaned midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko to AC Milan for the season.

The French ace joined the club from Monaco in a £40m deal 12 months ago.

But he didn’t impress in his debut campaign and will now try to rebuild his career at the San Siro.

The Serie A giants have the option to make the deal permament next summer.

12.10pm: Ander Herrera admits he is loving life at Manchester United and would like to sign a new long-term contract.

Herrera’s representatives have started talks with United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward about a similar deal, with Mourinho keen to tie him down for the long term.

The Egypt international faces stiff competition for a starting spot following the arrivals of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira this summer.
