Steven Seagal walked off a BBC interview Thursday after he was asked about accusations of rape and other instances of sexual misconduct aimed at him.
The 66-year-old entertainer was speaking with Kirsty Wark on the program Newsnight when she brought up the #MeToo movement, and how it’s impacted him.
‘You’ve been very much caught up in all the allegations of sexual harassment’ Wark told Seagal. ‘You had a rape allegation against you and I wonder how you deal with all that?’Â

The Out for Justice actor took his earpiece out and began to exit the set in the studio, as Wark reminded viewers that Seagal has denied all of the accusations against him.
The Under Siege star – who was appointed by Russia in August as a special envoy to the U.S. – has been among the dozens of powerful men in Hollywood to fall under scrutiny amid the rise of the #MeToo movement.
In September, prosecutors with the Los Angeles District’s Attorney’s office said that a 1993 rape accusation they received against Seagal would not result in charges due to the statute of limitations.Â
The probe was conducted by a special LAPD task force assembled to investigate the rash of accusations of sexual harassment and misconduct that have emerged over the past year.

Seagal has also been accused of sexual misconduct by actresses Jenny McCarthy, Julianna Margulies and Portia de Rossi, among others, in separate incidents.
McCarthy, speaking on her SiriusXM show last November, said that Seagal tried to get her to sit next to him, then undress, during a 1995 audition for his film Under Siege 2.
Margulies told McCarthy during an appearance on her show that when she was 23, a female casting agent directed her to a hotel the actor was at, saying she would be there for a meeting.
Worldwide: Seagal was appointed by Russia in August as a special envoy to the U.S.
The Good Wife star recalled, ‘I got to the hotel around 10:40, and she wasn’t there.
‘And he was alone and he made sure that I saw his gun, which I had never seen a gun in real life. I got out of there unscathed … I never was raped, and I never was harmed. I don’t know how I got out of that hotel room.’
Portia last November told a similar story in a tweet in which she recalled her ‘final audition’ – in his office – for a role in one of his films.Â
She wrote, ‘He told me how important it was to have chemistry off-screen as he sat me down and unzipped his leather pants.Â
‘I ran out and called my agent. Unfazed, she replied, “well, I didn’t know if he was your type.”‘
