Ryan Seacrest has not been “dumped” from covering the red carpet at this year’s Emmy Awards, despite an inaccurate report. A blog claims E! has banned the TV personality from covering the event following the sexual harassment allegations made against him last year. The story is completely false.

When Seacrest hosted E!’s red carpet coverage of the Oscars in March, there were several A-list stars who didn’t stop for interviews with him. It was speculated that some celebrities avoided the TV host because he had been accused of sexual misconduct by his former stylist a few months prior. However, E! conducted an investigation and found insufficient evidence to back up the allegations.

For this year’s coverage of the Emmy Awards, E! has enlisted Giuliana Rancic and Jason Kennedy to co-host the red carpet pre-show. RadarOnline is now wrongly reporting that the network removed Seacrest from covering the Emmys as a result of the sexual harassment allegations and being snubbed at the Oscars. An alleged insider tells the site, “The execs are in panic mode, and Ryan knows that they simply cannot afford to lose fans or ratings over this! They are considering replacing him on the red carpet, at least for the near future.”

The blog’s account of the situation simply isn’t true. Seacrest continues to serve as host and executive producer of E!’s Live from the Red Carpet shows, despite not being involved in this year’s Emmys. The 2018 Emmy Awards, which are being held Monday in Los Angeles, conflict with Seacrest’s hosting and producing duties on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” which tapes in New York City. The TV personality will be working on the east coast at the time of the Emmys.

Meanwhile, a rep for Seacrest tells Gossip Cop the story is “untrue” and points out that he “has not been part of the Emmys Red Carpet show since 2015, given conflicts with his other professional commitments in the month of September.” We also checked in with a spokesperson for E!, who tells us, “Ryan will be back on the ‘Live From the Red Carpet’ at the 2019 Golden Globes in January as usual. He hasn’t hosted the Emmys since 2015 due to scheduling and other commitments. Giuliana and Jason have been the Emmy hosts for the past several years.”

As for the blog’s claim that E! execs are “in panic mode” over the sexual harassment allegations made against Seacrest, a network spokesperson tells us on the record, “In February, E! concluded its independent third-party investigation, conducted by outside counsel, and found insufficient evidence to support any claims of wrongdoing. In August, the LAPD told the media, that they did look into allegations, no charges were filed, and the case is closed.”

It should be noted, RadarOnline has since changed the headline of its article and removed some if its previous claims. See screenshots below of the original headline, followed by the updated one.
